African American Music Month
What is African American Music Month?
In 1979, President Carter designated June Black Music Month to honor the accomplishments and history of the musical contributions such as the development of jazz, hip hop, R&B, swig, and barbershop.
In honor of the month, I’m sharing with you all a classic playlist that will guarantee get the party started. For those who know me, I was a DJ in my former life. I love letting the music move me at parties. I will also commandeer a speaker/DJ booth with a set of the music that isn't doing what it’s supposed to do. The playlist below can be used at a party to get folks on the dance floor-guaranteed. If someone isn't moving to at least one of these songs you are with the wrong crowd or they don’t have a pulse😳.
Comment below with your favorite party song in honor of Black Music Month.
Feel free to download my list on Spotify or if you don’t have Spotify, use the list to download into your music app.
