Ideas For A Great Gender Reveal- No Pranks Included

Although we didn't have quite the pandemic baby boom as originally anticipated, there are still many folks out there expecting-myself included😉. Unique gender reveals have become a common milestone in pregnancy. My cousin-sister-friend extraordinaire (also known as Nikki) was in charge of my gender reveal (per tradition) that I will post next week😉. In case you do not have a Nikki to come up with some out of the box ideas, here are some suggestions to get you brainstorming.

Holidays

You may be lucky enough to time your reveal to a holiday. If so, half the battle is already fought. Unless the holiday is April Fools Day, don’t yank my chain on the number of baby’s or gender- but thats just me. Some mom’s might love some pranks included in the festivities. Regardless of the holiday, all you need to do is think of an item related to the holiday. For a Fourth of July reveal, try red or Blue fireworks or for Christmas time reveal, try red or green confetti stuffed box with a boy or girl elf for Christmas. Justen Jrs ‘ reveal was Easter related. After having everyone cast their prediction, my hubby, mom and mom in love opened plastic easter eggs to reveal blue peeps for a boy.

Theme

So there isn't a holiday nearby or you're really excited and want to find out what you are having. Try tying it to the season or a theme. For Carrington’s gender reveal, it was after Easter. It just had a spring theme. Nikki found a cute baby chic bath fizz that would change the water blue or pink for the baby’s gender on etsy. The theme of the gender reveal became “Waddle it be?” I dropped a baby chick into water with a bath fizz on the bottom. The water changed pink for Carrington.

Cute reveal item

Maybe you don't have any theme or holidays in mind. Just search for unique or fun item(s) to use as a reveal. This time around, Nikki created a personalized heads up game for the reveal. She purchased Ellen’s heads up game and created a series of items that would lead to the gender of the baby. Check the IG post next week for the results😉.

Just announcing you are having a baby- not finding out the gender

Waiting until the birth to find out the gender? It doesn’t mean you have to miss out completely on the fun. So instead of putting all of the creative beans in the reveal basket why not announce in a new or creative way. Try doing a current Tik Tok challenge and change the expected outcome of the video. I had fun doing the silhouette challenge for my baby announcement. By the way, kudos to you on not finding out the gender because I could barely wait until the ultrasound and reveal to find out.

I mentioned some ideas to get the juice flowing. Pinterest and Etsy are your best friends for inspiration and supplies. Whatever you decide to do make sure its fun and memorable for you. Afterall when you become a grandparent you want to tell your kid all the fun things you did in anticipation of their birth. Or even be able to say, ”Back in my child rearing days, we didn't have all these new fangle things/events.” 😒😂
