5 Ideas For Last Minute Gifts

Updated 12/24/2022

At this point, it’s four sleeps (or less) until Christmas. You are extremely hard pressed to find anywhere that can ship products in time for Christmas. You may have more gifts to buy than days left until Christmas. How will you get the last remaining gifts without losing your edges? Here are a few tips to get great quality gifts and not break the bank.

Buy small and local

Shipping is basically no longer an option, so now is the time to physically go to the store. Most importantly find a small business to support during this time. This a great way to support small businesses and relieve the pressure of finding the perfect gift. Typically when you shop small, the inventory is more personable (read: unique). We all know small businesses have suffered from the pandemic, why not give them the  gift of finishing the year off in the black?

Buy personalized items

This ties into the buy local point above. You can buy generic items and have them personalized. However, you do want to start this process now to make sure you can get it done in time. There are many small businesses and random folks with a cricket that can personalize items for you. Things Remembered has a good selection of reasonably priced items and inexpensive engraving cost. It's a one stop shop for the items and engraving- which will eliminate another leg of errands.

Buy experiences.

Do you want a 100% way to avoid shipping delay or store outages? If so, gifting experiences to your friends and loved ones is the way to go. You can go online and purchase tickets to concerts, amusement parks, do, vacation, etc., from the comfort of your home and print it out from your printer. Go to a CVS or Walgreens to buy  a card to put the papergood inside. I would also suggest buying a small gift item that goes with the card. For example, if you are buying season tickets to the zoo, print the certificate, and go to a local store and buy a small stuffed zoo animal to pair with tickets.

Buy Services***

Let's not be shady here folks. Don’t buy someone an eyebrow session because YOU have determined the two fuzzy caterpillars on someone elses face is too much for you. If you know of a mom who has a lot going on and has expressed their extreme loathing of cooking or lack of time to cook a meal, purchase a meal prep kit. If the person hasn’t expressed a need for the particular service, this gift can go left real quick. When in doubt, a safe service is a manicure. Everyone can use clean nails and a hand massage.

Buy Giftcards

If all else fails, a giftcard to a favorite restaurant, store, or even a Visa giftcard still says you care. Pairing it with a Christmas card and a heartfelt note to the gift recipient goes a long way.

Hope this helps you to complete your holiday shopping. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎁🥳
