How to Find Fall Activities and the One Fall Activity Everyone Should do
How do I find Fall activities?
Fall is all about pumpkins, boots, jackets. But it's also a great time to soak up the last bits of outdoor activities while you can. I have some suggestions on how to find Fall activities and one Fall activity that EVERYONE should do.
Search the interwebs
The first places to search especially if you are new to town are local and state tourism sites. They purely exist to promote how fun an area is and persuade people to take a vacation in their specific area. They will have all the major events and especially seasonal and/or holiday events. In addition to checking state and local city websites, also check for county level websites. They can also highlight smaller events that are not necessarily covered in the other 2 sections.
Please sign up for any newsletters that are available for these sites. This will save time in the future because you won't have to keep googling for events every season to keep up.
Search for local newsletters
Most large cities have some local enewsletter or print newsletter that covers events, new restaurant openings, etc. Search these out because they are more likely to cover new or smaller events that could be happening in your city.
Google activities
If there are specific activities/events that you are looking for and you do not see in your location based search, try just searching the specific activity/event. The google search results typically pull suggestions closest to your location. For example, if there is no apple picking in your city and state, maybe there is an opportunity in the state nearby and could be a roadtrip. You can google the following list of activities to find activities that may be more a roadtrip.
Some suggestions of things to google that could have fall activities but may not pop up in other searches:
Zoo
Local Parks
Malls
Take family photos in a park
Now is a perfect time to schedule a family photo shoot. The leaves are starting to change which will provide a beautiful background. You can get picture and enjoy time at the playground. Its also great to take care of this before the Holiday season takes off and the family schedule becomes jammed packed.
While you are searching for Fall Activities and events, it would be a great idea to make the schedule for the Holiday season. I know I'm not the only one who feels like you blink once in the beginning of November and then its NYE🤯. Its easier to plan the traditions and activities that are important to you and your family so they aren't left off during the frenzy of the holiday season.
What are your favorite Fall activities?
