25 ways to spend time with your partner

One of my favorite date night 😉

One of my favorite date night 😉

In honor of the day I met my hubby, I decided to post 25 ways to date: pandemic edition. Normally we would be going on a date...outside in the world to honor the occasion especially since this momentous day falls on a Friday but COVID-19 . So here’s a way to celebrate your hubby/wife/partner or boo thang if you are still sheltering in place. Some of the ideas we have tried and some are on our date night list to try.

  1. Netflix and chill is always a great option but how about this time picking something that you wouldn’t ordinarily watch. You know, plan ahead and check the internet for options that are out there before the date. Instead of contemplating for 2 hours what to watch just to watch the next episode of The Indian Matchmaker.

  2. Order carryout from your favorite restaurant. Pack a blanket and have dinner at a park. Don’t forget the bug spray and sunsrceen. We have ordered carry out from local restaurants but haven’t followed up with this idea- enjoy the outdoors.

  3. Game Night- Lovers edition. My hubby and I love a great game night. Since the pandemic our regularly scheduled game nights left. So now after we put the kids down for bed we play the games that you can with only 2 people. Our favorite ones are 5000, 5 Crowns, Banagrams.

  4. Make a Tik Tok. So my hubby is not that into dancing but I still think it would be fun to learn a dance routine. And then post for our friends to crack up at our attempt to keep up with the trends.

  5. Cook a new meal together. Find an adventurous recipe that you like to eat but have never tried to make at home. Even if the meal doesn't turn out yummy, it's still a great opportunity to talk about your partner about their day, future goals and dreams, etc.

  6. Create a home spa treatment. Buy a foot tub and all the necessary pedicure supplies. Take turns giving each other a pedicure.

  7. Video game night. My hubby loves to play video games. I actually enjoy watching him play, especially games that have a great story or plot like Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham: Asylum Nights, and Super Mario Odyssey. I mostly watch but sometimes I play Mario Party or Mario Kart.

  8. Plan a future vacation. Once this quarantine is over, I'm sure everyone is going to be catching flights. Plan where you want to go,visit and eat. Start a fund and begin researching options. When the world opens back you will be ready to set dates and go.

  9. Update your family portraits. There are plenty of inexpensive camera stand options on Amazon. Purchase a stand for your phone and then take a couple photos.

  10. Date in a box. There are boxes you can order that send date night Crated With Love, The Deadbolt Mystery In A Box, Date Box Club to name a few. The monthly subscription includes snacks, games, mysteries, etc for a fun night.

  11. Gather news stories from the week and discuss what happened. Sometimes the week flies by without having any deep or random fun conversations about current events. It can be a game to gather the weirdest or funniest stories from the week and share with your partner.

  12. Drive up concerts. Dave Chappell has some but also other artists are jumping on this idea. Artists are performing at an open field where the audience can drive up and watch the performance from the comfort of their cars. We can still enjoy live concerts while being socially distant.

  13. You tube concert.  Since the majority of artists are not doing a concert you can always have a personal concert by creating a playlist of performances/video from your favorite artists. Dance and sing along. Sway to the music while enjoying dinner.

  14. Puzzle night. Buy one of those complicated 5,000 piece puzzles to build together. Try a 3D puzzle or even a Lego Statue. Meanwhile you can strike up conversation about new adventures you would like to do in the future.

  15. Bike rides or motorcycles. Whichever suits your fancy. Either option gets you outside in a safe social distance situation.

  16.  Workout together. There are plenty of ways to workout- running, dancing, yoga, weightlifting, eyc. Pick a workout that is challenging and fun for both partners. Also even a 20 minute workout can be a healthy way to bond.

  17. Take a stroll through the neighborhood. It’s a good way to get the heart pumping and discover new things about your neighborhood.

  18. Quibi and chill. Quibi is an app with 10 minute episodes. You can binge watch a whole season. If you want more information on Quibi check out my article  https://boldculturehub.com/2020/08/personal-insights-quibi-is-it-worth-your-investment/

  19. Arts and crafts night. Scrapbooking, drawing, DIY home projects, even painting. Try an activity in the arts that's relaxing.

  20. Campfire night with s’mores. Create a firepit in your backyard (only if your zoning codes allows this). This is a great way to enjoy fresh air after the summer heat has left.

  21. Pool day. Even if you don’t have a pool in the backyard, you can still have a pool day. Buy a small portable pool. Or there are many sprinkler options and water guns to have some water play.

  22. Backyard camping or Glamping whichever is your speed. I'm more of a glamper but considering it's in the backyard, I'll just partake in outdoor activities until nightfall and then head inside to sleep without critters or insects bothering me.

  23. Virtual museum tour. Many museums offer virtual tours since the pandemic prevented large crowds in indoor places.

  24. Check out random YouTube videos. Yes as a couple you can voluntarily go down this rabbit hole. There's some good content besides walkthroughs on the latest DIY project.

  25. Podcast exchange. Usually my hubby and I listen to podcasts while road tripping. We will play a podcast that either one of us is interested in.He’s usually the one introducing new ones to me.

Have you tried some of this ideas? What are some of your pandemic date night ideas?
